I’ve really been…

…slacking with the blog

So here’s a little update with everything I have going on:

Project: Strangers // Not so strange
A personal project of mine that was put on hold due to a light leaking film back
Leak is now fixed and the project is moving forward
Should be starting to shoot for it by the end of the month
I am going to need an assistant for it, so contact me if you’re interested
I’m excited to finally be moving forward with this

Help Portrait
Coming along slowly but surely
We still need a lot more people to make it happen
You can sign up here to become more involved and keep yourself up to date
Please consider helping out

In other news, I’m going to be starting an internship at Wonderful Machine which I am super stoked for
Tentative start date is mid-November
More on that as all the details are worked out

I’ve been assisting Gene Smirnov, a photographer who works there, in the meantime and it’s been great
He’s a super cool dude so be sure to scope out his site
Here’s your truly standing in for a lightning test for some stuff we shot for Drexel the other week
goober

And lastly, if you’re going to be at PDN PhotoPlus Expo in NYC please give me a shout
I’ll be there Friday and Saturday

And on that note,

Wait!
I also redesigned by blog…again
Hope you like it!

PEACE ALL!

Get involved! // Help Portrait

Jeremy Cowart posted this video the other day on Scott Kelby’s site.
This is a fantastic idea.

I want to get something going around the Philadelphia area.
If you are interested in helping out or being involved please let me know.
The details are no where near finalized and I need all the help I can get.

December 12th, 2009
It’s time to give a little something back.
Let’s make this happen.

It’s just about that time

The days are getting shorter.
The weather is cooling down.
The bars have stopped serving Summer Ale.
The leaves are starting to change. And fall.

Summer is just about wrapped.

It’s okay though.
I’m a fall guy personally.

Onto the good stuff.

Meet Annagrace.
We went to highschool together.
She now lives in Georgia and is pursuing acting…or maybe it was theater.
We met up the other day, last minute, and did some shooting.

Here’s the outcome.

In other news:
I’ve been upgrading the blog and working on getting the site integrated and all the happy stuff.
Bear with me if the site or blog is down for a little while. It’s only temporary.

Until next time…

Strangers // Not so strange

Strangers

This is the start of of a new project for me

Not going to give away all the details just yet
You’ll have to check back to see what it’s all about once the first image goes live
What I can tell you is that it will be shot on a Mamiya RB67 Pro SD using film

The first images should be up soon hopefully
Still working out the kinks with the camera and trying to find a reasonable place around Philly to get my film scanned (feel free to recommend a place)

Be sure to check back soon for updates!

The beast!

One word:

Dopehotsandysaltyoutrageouspackedfunrockyfast.

Yup.
That about sums up Bermuda in one word.

But for real, it was awesome.
Didn’t shoot all too much, just relaxed and enjoyed myself.
All these shots were processed in LR with some minor adjustments.
I have a good amount of stuff to catch up on, but really wanted to get these up.

But anywho, the goodies:

Boarding the very last seats on the dirtiest plane the miserable fine folks at USAir had to offer.
scum_plane

Hopped off the plane and went directly to the beach.
beachin

This beach is COVERED with sea glass; it’s the strangest thing.
sea glass beach

Stopped by a friends’ house.
This was taken in their front yard.
Awesome view. You can see it raining off in the distance. Wild.
rain!

These little guys are all over.
As you can see, this guys camo was not working properly this day
dragon!

Then sun peeking through some early evening cloud cover.
blam!

The town of St. George, where we stayed.
St. Georges

My lovely girlfriend, Adrienne, on our way to dinner in town.
Adrienne

This charter boat, Mess Around, has been docked in the same spot for over 15 years.
I see it every year I go, and it always looks exactly the same.
Mess around

Cobblestone street in downtown St. George.
Leads to the town square.
The hanging lights were a new addition this year. I approve .
allllley

My old man and little bro at Tobacco bay, the best place for snorkeling.
They are about 200ft from the beach and it’s only waist deep. Fantastic.
Off in the distance you can see the dockyard at the opposite end of the island the the mega-ships dock.
The rock right in front of them is ideal for some cliff jumping. Fun stuff.
tobacco bay

This is a little boy I met at the beach.
His name is Lauren, a very common British name for guys apparently.
He showed us his secret clubhouse up in the rocks.
He was very adamant about getting his photo taken while talking on the phone.
Lauren

Yes, the water is that color.
It was also about 80 degrees. So nice.
coral

Ready for dinner.
This is where we stayed, St Georges Club.
miney mouse!

Adrienne again.
This time in downtown Hamilton.
90% of the restaurants in Hamilton absurdly expensive and give you next to no food. I disapprove.
yet again!

Don’t know why I like this, but I do.
i am car

One of the main methods of transportation in Bermuda.
Vespa!

I don’t know what the proper name for this thing is, but it is still used occasionally.
It’s used to direct traffic at a busy intersection.
i dont know what this is called

The moon.
So nice at night.
mooon

One of the ferries that runs from one end of the island to the other.
Gnarly name: The Tempest!
ferry

One of the “smaller” ships the comes into St. George.
I forget the name of this one. Norwegian Majesty, maybe.
big boat

Our transportation for the week.
Awesomely slow, yet they still feel fast. Tons of fun.
I maxed mine out at around 76kph. Down a hill. With the wind behind me. Under better than ideal conditions.
fast n furious

This is unofficial official drink of Bermuda. The Rum Swizzle.
The best ones are had at the home of the Rum Swizzle, the Swizzle Inn.
Their slogan is awesome: “Swizzle Inn, swagger out.”
rum swizzle

Got a little choppy the last day we were there.
wuduh

This is a photo of some buildings.
_mg_2487

The Norwegian ship leaving.
peace!

To sum it up:
Bermuda has incredible light from 4pm until the sun goes down
The clouds are always insane
The people are incredibly genuine
Everything is stupidly expensive
You have to watch out for roosters, they are the Bermuda equivalent of NYC squirrels
I really need a good 50mm lens

Until next time…

Peace all!
